Apple’s iOS 19 update, set to release in 2025, will be compatible with all iPhones that currently support iOS 18. This means every iPhone model that can run iOS 18 will also be able to run iOS 19, with no devices being left out.
Here’s the list of iPhones that will support iOS 19:
- iPhone SE (2nd & 3rd gen)
- iPhone XR, XS, XS Max
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max
The oldest iPhones that will support iOS 19 are the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max (released in 2018). However, newer iPhones might get some exclusive features that older models won’t have access to.
This will be the second consecutive year that Apple has not dropped support for any iPhones with a major iOS update. Last year, iOS 17 dropped support for the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
The iPadOS 19 update will also support many iPad models, with some older devices like the iPad 7 and older iPad Pro models being excluded.
Apple is expected to preview iOS 19 at its WWDC in June 2025, with the public release happening in September.
